Postgame plan

By Chris Forsberg, Boston.com Staff

Sorry for the delay in fourth-quarter posts, our internet connection dropped for a bit.

Looked like we were headed for an uneventful finish with Gloucester looking to run out the clock late, but a fumbled exchange was recovered by Swampscott with 3:54 remaining.

The Big Blue went right up top with Trevor Wheeler hauling in a 29-yard touchdown pass from Peter Kinchley on the very next play to pull Swampscott within a score at 21-14.

Gloucester recovered the onside kick, but still had work to do. The Fishermen needed a short pickup by Andrew Fulford on a fourth-and-inches situation with little more than a minute to play to ultimately seal the win.

Back with more highlights, reaction, and thoughts on the game, shortly.
