7 EMass Super Bowls?...Then CMass/WMass?...This isn't Ohio or Texas....Every other sport seems to do fine with just a D1-4 winner Statewide.....don't get
An awesome day for the athletes and the families. It was great to be at Gillette Stadium and have the opportunity to be at the home of the World Champs. Thanks to the sponsors - Bob's and Suffolk University who gave away free stuff. Everyone seemed to have a great time.
congats to nate adames and his defense in the super bowl... but as far as who is the betta bak.. we both put up almost the same exact numbers in 2 years... this year i have 30 touchdowns which the globe has failed to add.. i have 25 not including the 2 touchdowns in chelsea, two touchdown receptions and one in the suber bowl and 16 last year and freshman and sophmore year 2 td's.. that totals 46 just like nate has in his career. yes he might have a little more rushing yards but we're almost identical.. no doubt he is a very very good bak but we've pilled up the same total stats in two years of starting. Not to mention i share a great amount of touches wit the speedster frankie brown.. Congrats to nate admes and his super bowl team and i wish them the best of luck in seasons to come i just hope the globe recognizes the td's they missed for me because that 30 td's on the season leavin a total of 48 for my career.
Forsberg's response
All of our stats are generated directly from the box scores. In order to find where we might be short-changing you, go through the East Boston box scores here:

One game might not have simply been called in, or someone else might have been credited for a TD you scored.
Email the corrected info to cforsberg@boston.com and we'll verify it, then change it online.
Is there going to be a final top 100?
Forsberg's response:
Yes there will be. Globe's final top 20 runs Saturday, top 100 will likely run the same day.
All-Scholastics debut on Sunday.
Greetings,
There are several subjective facets to determining "the best" of anything. The forum used here is subject to "homerism" and demographics. I wish there had been a way to establish objective, common criteria; rushing yards, all purpose yards, points scored for each back. Not every back's full stats are posted.
As for the subjective part I feel the Globe staff could have given each player a "power ranking" based on impact of their play, difficulty of schedule compared to team ranking, line size, school size etc.
This seems like a popularity contest which of course my son wins in my heart. As for the best back, he wins that in my heart and on paper too. His 2000 + season and heart helped lift Feehan from unranked nobodies to one of the top teams in the state. Not even mentioning his play on the other side of the ball.
I know it is difficult to absorb and relate some of the factors I mention for all top players on all teams. I am on record that I feel Feehan got overlooked most of the season and this isn't sour grapes at all. I am just casting a verbal vote for Nick Schwieger as Back of The Year in Eastern Mass.
Thanks for pointing out my oversight regarding Division II coverage in the paper.
Forsberg's response:
Hi Hans:
You bring up some great point. I'll keep it in mind next time we roll out some polls like this. Maybe we'll expand it and let people vote on each Division, leveling the playing field a bit since there likely be more common opponents and such.
And no worries on the oversight. I simply don't want anyone to think we're ignoring one division over another. Especially not after a great game like that Super Bowl. Congrats to Feehan and Nick on a spectacular season.
