Red & Blue

So it appears the Natick sports teams will indeed go by the moniker "Red & Blue" starting this fall. Actually, we still haven't gotten official word if it's the word "and" or an ampersand in the middle there, but that's beyond the point.
We don't get the feeling it's going to go over well by those who were in favor of keeping the Redmen nickname. This article seems to suggest Redmen fever will still run rampant when the football team kicks off at home on Sept. 12.
Natick opens it season on Saturday evening against Newton North at Bentley College in Waltham.
Got a better name (or just want to rant about this one). Leave a note in the comments section.

I hope that everyone still goes to the game wears head dresses and paints their faces. This is pure bulls and if they think that they are going to be able to stop people from still dressing up like Indians, excuse me, "Native Americans" then they are kidding themselves.
Give it up, losers
Why can Florida State still have a Seminole chief as its mascot, and use a 'tomahawk chop' as a cheer, but NHS fans must relinquish their traditional nickname? Political correctness is just another infringement on freedom of expression. Those who impose it are terrible hypocrites! These same individuals
freely engage in bashing white males of European descent, but show exaggerated reverance to all women, so-called minorities, etc. I encourage all to enjoy NHS sports, while freely expressing your support in the manner you choose, be it "Go Redmen," or "Go Red & Blue, " or simply "Go Natick!"
I can maybe understand getting rid of the "Redmen" name, but if you are going to do that, it has to be replaced with something better than "Red and Blue." That's really weak. Very disappointing outcome
Hey, Sue Lamont, the singular of "Redmen" is "Redman." If you're going to insist on waving a bigoted t-shirt, at least get the grammar right.
Class of 1960 - The reason why Florida State kept their name is because the local Seminole tribe fought for them to keep the name. The mascot is taught in their customs, and nothing that Florida State does is considered offensive to them. I think the whole changing the name thing is lame, nobody is making a deal about it except for guilty white people
