A new No. 1 team has been crowned this week, as the Springfield Cathedral Panthers overtake BC High due to the latter’s recent loss.

St. John’s Prep controlled the puck for much of the game against BC High Saturday and earned a 3-2 win. The victory removed the only team in the way of Cathedral earning its first ever No. 1 ranking in the Globe Top 20.

The Panthers tied Central Catholic, 3-3, to start this past week on Jan. 21 before taking down Acton-Boxboro and Minnechaug to round things out. St. John's Prep also moved up a spot to No. 2 due to the BC High victory.

One team that forced the Top 20 another makeover was Wilmington. The Wildcats took down Winchester and former No. 18 Arlington this past week. The Spy Ponders were bounced from the Top 20 in part due to the loss to Wilmington as well as an embarrassing 7-0 loss to Melrose this past Saturday.
