MIAA condenses wrestling tournament
The MIAA announced Thursday that the state wrestling tournament schedule has been condensed, with the sectionals, divisional rounds, and the All-State meet all taking place in one week. By doing this it allows Massachusetts wrestlers to compete in the New England championships scheduled for March 1-2. The decision was made by the MIAA Wrestling Committee.
The changes are a result of last weekend's snowstorm that forced postponement of the sectional round to this weekend (Feb.15-16).
Sectional tournaments will be held Sat., Feb. 16. The All-State finals will be held between Feb. 22-24. But in between the two, the MIAA will hold the Division 1, 2, and 3 state tournaments on Feb. 19 and 20.
Individual sites and times are still being determined, according to a release from the MIAA.
