Picks
Football Committee over MIAA agreement — If the Spaulding football is as bad as coaches say, then don’t grumble about it, don’t form a sub-committee. Item 1 on the Jan. 22 agenda: get rid of the thing.
St. John’s Prep over Brockton — If the Eagles can shut out Andover, they’ll have no trouble doing the same to the Boxers.
Barnstable over Everett — Too bad that casino isn’t open now because I’d bet the house on this one.
Reading over Mansfield — For Mansfield, beating the Rockets would be the equivalent of hitting the lottery twice in one week.
Beverly over Natick — If you think the unauthorized football used by Natick (to throw four touchdown passes) was an innocent mistake, raise your hand. Thought so.
Wayland over Sharon — When you sit across from a Sharon parent, picking against the Eagles is risky. But there’s no way Sharon holds Wayland to one score.
Bishop Feehan over Lynnfield — The Shamrocks’ two losses are to Division 2 schools. Lynnfield is a nice story, but Bishop Feehan is the better team.
Abington over St. Mary’s — Only a grinch would pick against Jim Kelliher and Abington.
Cathedral over Madison Park — It may be scoreless at the half, but eventually the Cathedral offense will be too much for the Cardinals.
Dorchester over Upper Cape — Here’s hoping members of the Dorchester Eagles continue the high school’s success and don’t end up being whisked away by Metco.
