WESTWOOD — Xaverian quarterback Jake Farrell’s frustration was visible after he missed two open receivers at the end of regulation with the score tied, 3-3.

But he collected himself for the overtime frame and scrambled for a 5-yard touchdown to put the Hawks ahead. Charlie Stevenson gave him the go-ahead to call for a 2-point conversion.

Farrell handed off to fullback Kenny Kern, who barreled over the goal line for the conversion — the difference as Xaverian edged BC High, 11-9, in the Division 1 South semifinal playoffs at the Hawk Bowl.
