Returning lettermen (7): Otto Magdanz, WR, Sr; Donnie Cohn, DB, Jr.; Chris Haynes, RB, Jr.; Stevie Wilson, DT, Jr.; Philppe Panico, QB, So.; Ian Mahoney, OT, So.; Zach Proman, OG, So.
From the coach: ''We're looking to repeat last year's performance, which included an appearance in the NEPSAC Super Bowl. Farkes is a Division 1 player on either side of the ball. He's the best high school player I've ever coached. Malt led the league in touchdown receptions and has had a great preseason. Newcomer Mike Paladino, a transfer from Arlington Catholic, is a huge addition at linebacker and running back. Ingram was last year's team defensive MVP. Sandrock anchors a solid D-line. My son, Nico, is one of the biggest surprises in preseason both at fullback and defensive tackle."
BELMONT HILL
Coach: Kevin Fleming (17th year, 99-34-2).
Last year's record: 6-2.
Returning starters (11): Barry Gallup, RB/DB, 5-11, 175, Sr.; Kevin Yetman C, 6-1, 250, Sr.; Dan Williams, LB, 6-3, 210, Jr.; Corey Gatewood, WB/DB, 6-0, 165, Jr.; Taylor Glor, QB, 6-4, 200; Sr.; Chuks Ekwelum, LB, 6-0, 240, Sr.; David DesPrez, OE, 5-11, 180, Sr.; John McCusker, DE, 6-1, 225, Jr.; Locksley Bryan, DE, 5-10, 175, Sr.; Steve Cusano, DB, 6-0, 165, Jr.; Maquire Wiswall, DB, 6-0, 180, Jr.

From the coach: ''Skill positions and team speed will be the strengths of the '05 Belmont Hill lineup, but the name everyone will be focused on is Barry Gallup Jr. The Notre Dame-bound senior is one of the most exciting runners in New England. Last fall, Belmont Hill was the second-highest-scoring team in the ISL behind BB&N and if the line can open up holes for Gallup, the production should continue. If defenses gang up on Gallup, Glor will have to keep them honest with his arm."
BROOKS
Coach: John Quirk (second year).
Last year's record: 4-4.
Returning starters (10): Sam Berman, G/DL, 5-6, 175, Sr.; Mike Burbank, TE/OLB, 6-0, 180, Jr.; Corey Forgetta, QB/DB, 6-1, 168, Jr.; Mike Iannazzo, T/DE, 6-4, 234, Jr.; Patrick Lahey, T/DL, 6-2, 258, So.; Kyle Moseley, FB/LB, 5-7, 183, Sr.; Mack O'Connell, G/LB, 5-11, 188, Sr.; Ryan Riffe, HB/DB, 5-7, 160, Sr.; Eric Vachon, HB/OLB, 5-7, 162, Sr.; Alex Vendola, C/DT, 6-0, 233, Sr.

From the coach: ''With a strong senior class of returning and potential starters, as well as numerous promising underclassmen, the expectations at Brooks are high. Early season contests with ISL powers BB&N, Belmont Hill, and GDA will quickly let us know where we stand relative to the traditional top of the league. Early season success will depend on the play and progress of junior quarterback Corey Forgetta, whose skills could help him to evolve into one of the top players in the ISL at that position."
GOVERNOR DUMMER
Coach: Mark Gerry (13th year, 64-23-1).
Last year's record: 7-1-1.
Returning starters (10): Martin Cahill, WR/S, 6-3, 200, Sr.; Nick Caro, FL/S, 6-2, 190, Sr.; Steven Cody, G/LB, 6-2, 205, Jr.; Ben Cutrell, T/DT, 6-0, 225, Jr.; Brian Day, QB, 6-0, 200, Jr.; Ted Durkin, T/LB, 6-2, 205, Jr.; Charlie Grant, G/DT, 6-1, 210, Sr.; Jyovani Joubert, G/DT, 5-11, 210, Sr.; Tim Langmaid, TB/DB, 5-10, 175, Jr.; Andrew Sillari, K, 6-2, 185.
Returning lettermen (6): Ari Blinder, TE/DE, Jr.; Kevin Campbell, G/DE, Sr.; Henry Gurney, C/DT, Sr.; Justin Kim, FB/LB, Sr.; Tyler Sabens, FL/DB, So.; Andrew Somerville, RB/DB, So.
From the coach: ''GDA has a good mix of returning talent and new players, and the team is coming together to form a new identity. The Governors will have to grow up fast, and the leadership of the captains and seasoned players will be key in helping this team build on past experiences. The players at the skill positions should provide excitement on offense behind a capable line, and the defense should set the tone with its strong play."
GROTON
Coach: John Lyons (second year).
Last year's record: 0-8.
Returning starters (10): Graham McCulloch, OT/DT, 6-6, 270, Sr.; Steve Mello, QB/LB, 6-0, 180, Sr.; Max Foster, HB/LB, 6-1, 190, Sr.; Jamie Hamer, TE/DE, 6-0, 170, Sr.; Benjy Hansen-Bundy, OT/DT, 6-0, 195, Jr.; Francois Mathieu, RB/LB, 5-6, 170, Jr.; Jimmie Small, QB/DB, 5-10, 170, Jr.; Alec Knight, 5-7, 145, DB, Jr.; Conor Smith, C/LB, 5-11, 185, Jr.; Chris Heelan, 5-8, 170, HB/LB, Jr.
Returning lettermen (3): Karthik Devarajan, SE/DB, Sr.; John Zacharias, OG/DE, Jr.; Gus Harwood, FB/LB, Jr.
From the coach: ''After suffering a down year as a result of a small senior group and a lot of inexperience, the future is brighter for us going into 2005. With the exception of the wide receiver position, all of Groton's skill positions on offense return, while McCulloch paces a more athletic and aggressive offensive line. For scoring, the team will turn to production from Mathieu and Foster, as they did last year. The defense will be paced by an experienced group of linebackers."

Returning lettermen (10): Cryder Bancroft, WR/S, Sr.; Chris Fay, WR/DB, Sr.; Andy Katz, TE/LB, Sr.; Terrence Agbi, TE/DE, Jr.; Ben Cornell, TE/LB, Jr.; Paul Lindholm, G/LB, Jr.; Chris Pallotta, Jr.; Prentis Robinson, T/DT, Jr.; Ben Smith, G/DT, Jr.; Buck McKenna, C/LB, 5-11, 185, Jr.
From the coach: ''The skill positions will have to carry the load early in the season until a talented but inexperienced line jells with the offense. Defense is solid but needs time playing with each other adjusting to multiple defensive fronts and responsibilities. We are excited about the coming season and the potential this team has. On a side note, Tom Lang has verbally committed to a scholarship offer from Rutgers University."
MILTON ACADEMY
Coach: Kevin Macdonald (second year).

Returning letterman: Marland Hobbs, G/LB, Sr.; Mike Giannone, FB/LB, Jr.; Phil Keefe, WR/S, Jr.; Bryan Mountain, RB/CB, Jr.; Bill Donahue, TE/DE, Jr.
From the coach: ''Our strengths include an all-New England quarterback in Dan Zailskas, who is being heavily recruited at the Division 1 level as both a QB and as a baseball player; a big, veteran offensive line led by Mike Greenberg [an Ivy League Division 1 recruit]; the addition of two transfer students [LM/LB Chris D'India and RB/DB Kyle Roy]; and the return of our two leading receivers [Anschuetz and Tuggle]. Our major concern is our lack of experienced depth at many positions."
NOBLE AND GREENOUGH
Coach: Bob Moore (second year).

Returning starters (10): Matt Rhone, TE/LB, 5-11, 190, Sr.; Bernard Hilton, LB, 5-9, 163, Sr.; Adam Benjamin, DB, 5-11, 160, Sr.; Brad Caswell, OL, 6-2, 235, Sr.; Tim Furcillo, OL/DL, 6-3, 280, Sr.; Greg Croak, WR/DB, 6-4, 190, Sr.; Mike Shanahan, RB/LB, 5-10, 215, Sr.; Rob Owen, RB, 5-9, 167, Jr.; Tom Lamont, QB, 5-11, 160, Sr.; Pat Noone, DB, 5-9, 180, Jr.

From the coach: ''With a solid group of returnees and a second year under the new staff, the 2005 Nobles team has good reason to build on the successes from last year. The defense will be athletic and quick to the ball with several players capable of playing different positions in the defensive scheme. The offense will find its strength in its running game through a talented, experienced backfield [Owen and Shanahan] that will follow the talent and leadership of Furcillo on the line. Younger players on both sides of the ball are going to have significant roles in the success of the team this year. The kicking game is in very good shape with each specialty spot held by a returning starter. This could make the difference in the competitive schedule faced within the ISL. Six of the eight opponents are the same from last year with St. Mark's and St. George's filling the slate for the Bulldogs."
RIVERS
Coach: Darren Sullivan (first year).
Last year's record: 2-5.

Returning lettermen (15): Brian Davis, WR/DB, Sr.; Zach LeBlanc, LB/RB, Sr.; Gus Brewer, OL/LB, Jr.; Brett Deware, WR/DB, Jr.; Ian Egbert, OL/DL, Sr.; Alex Harrison, OL/DL, Jr.; Sam Harrison, OL/DL, Jr.; Ryan Peters, RB/LB, Jr.; Steve Rizoli, WR/DB, Jr.; Mike Saunders, RB/LB, Jr.; Chris Sullivan, WR/DB, Jr.; Jeffrey Sullivan, WR/DB, Jr.; Greg Taylor, OL/DL, Jr.; Morgan Askins, RB/DB, So.; Greg Clifford, OL/DL, So.; Tim Costello, RB/LB, So.; Brandon Donahue, RB/LB, So.; Tim Jackson, OL/DL, So.; Derek Kelliher, RB/DB, So.
From the coach: ''The team will be led by senior captains Ben Donahue and Steve Belichick. Donahue plays cornerback and is an offensive skill player. Belichick will lead the team on defense as a linebacker. Returning players to watch include juniors Dan Miklavic at middle linebacker and Cherron Kerr at quarterback. Last season, Kerr was a member of the All-ISL team and an ISL Player of the Week. Seniors Nadeem Haque, Erik Hanks, and Peter Sessa are all returning as starting linemen. Other players to watch include receivers Will Lawton and Mark Goodrich. The great senior leadership of this team combined with their solid work ethic should keep us competitive in the league this season."

Returning lettermen (5): Kevin Mannering LB, Sr.; Matt Grzecki DB, Sr.; Joe Webster RB, Sr.; Will Burke, OL, Sr.; Kaleb Rollins, DB, Sr.
From the coach: ''Roxbury Latin has a good core of returning veterans but has lost three-year starter and projected starting tailback Scott Roman to a season-ending knee injury. The squad will have to rely on a number of younger and inexperienced players in key positions in order to have a successful season. Our schedule is difficult with five of the eight opponents losing a total of seven games last year."
ST. GEORGE'S
Coach: John Mackay (9th year, 23-39-2).

Returning starters (11): Mike Taylor, RB-LB, 6-2, 220, Sr.; Matt Cruise, OL-DE, 5-11, 180, Sr.; David VandenBerg, RB-CB, 5-11, 172, Sr.; Liam Chatterton, OL-DL, 6-0, 190, Sr.; Alec Brown, OL-DL, 5-11, 211, Sr.; Matt Gutierrez, RB-DB, 6-2, 170, Sr.; Devin O'Rourke, TE-DL, 6-3, 215, So.; Tae Sung Jung, DL, 5-9, 190, Sr.; David Webb, DB, 6-1, 155, Sr.; James Passemato, OG, 5-11, 185, Jr.; Geoff Johnson, RB, 5-11, 160, Jr.

From the coach: ''We continued to show improvement in '04 playing hard against top ISL opponents GDA, Middlesex, St. Seb's, and Milton [who combined for a 25-5-1 record last year]. This year's schedule, which adds Roxbury Latin, Brooks, and Nobles, while dropping Milton, Lawrence, and GDA, should prove to be more favorable and help SG finish in the upper half of the league and vie for a possible New England Prep Bowl berth."
ST. MARK'S
Coach: Bob Brennan. (second year).
Last year's record: 5-3.
Returning starters (10): Dave Hendrie, OG/DT; Marc Langelier, OT/DT; John Loverme, C, Sr.; Drew Burgess, OG/LB, Sr.; Jarred Jammal, FB/LB, Sr.; Alex Dupelissis, QB, Sr.; Tommy Hubbard, LB; Sal Abdo, DB, Sr.; Ted McBride, OL, Sr.; Connor Flanagan, DE, Sr.
From the coach: ''Our strength in 2005 is experience on the offensive line, and the speed at the skill position. We will have to get good in hurry at linebacker with all new starters at this position. We will be starting eight underclassmen on offense, and nine underclassmen on defense. We have to stay injury-free to be competitive in the ISL."

Coach: Matt Winslow (second year).

From the coach: ''This is a season of promise for SPS football. With a large and talented senior class to provide leadership, this hopes to be a productive and enjoyable season. Along with the seniors and returning lettermen, SPS football will rely upon the skills of many new players to the program. The defense will be improved from last year and the offense should have a more balanced and consistent approach than what was evidenced from the previous season."
ST. SEBASTIAN'S
Coach: Bob Souza (28th year, 117-76-9).

Returning starters (10): Tom Stratton, LB/FB, 6-2, 210, Jr.; Mike Feeley, LB/TE, 6-2, 200, Sr.; Mike Morteo, DE/OT, 6-4, 220, Sr.; Jim Gallagher, LB/TE, 6-1, 185, Sr.; Matt Nagatori, DE/OG, 6-3, 195, Sr., Mack Stanton, DT/C, 6-0, 210, Sr.; Conor Keating, LB/OG, 6-0, 195, LB/OG; John Marich, DB/SE, 5-9, 170, Sr., Dale Anderson, DB/TB, 5-11, 180, Sr., Andrew Oglevee, DT/OT, 6-0, 220, Sr.
Returning lettermen (6): Tom McAvoy, QB, Sr.; Ryan Sanders, DE/OT, Sr., Jack Wilkerson, LB/OG, Sr; Chimaobi Chukwu, DT/OT, Jr.; Darvis Rankins, S/SE, Jr.; Ed Dillon, DB/TB, Sr.
From the coach: ''We return eight starters from a defense that was the best in our league last year, so we feel that will be our strength. Four of our offensive linemen return, but none of the backfield remains. Senior Tom McAvoy steps in at quarterback, replacing Mark Flaherty, who is now at Bates College. Tom Stratton, Dale Anderson, and Ed Dillon will share the running duties now that Marc Federico [213 carries for 1,054 yards and 13 touchdowns] has graduated. We play the toughest schedule in the ISL and our first four games [Milton, GDA, Middlesex, and Belmont Hill] will be critical in deciding who will be the leader in our league."
THAYER
Coach: Jeff Toussaint (second year).
Last year's record: 4-4.

Returning lettermen (4): J.B. Marcellino, DB/RB, Sr.; Patrick Marr, OL/DL, Jr.; John Bowen, OL/DL, Sr. Peter Gooding, DL/OL, Jr.
From the coach: ''Though we're not the biggest team around, we do have considerable speed. Winning our last three games last year was a definite confidence-booster, as our players gained significant experience. Junior Dan Pozner has a season under his belt as the quarterback. We hope that he can distribute the ball to our receivers to take some pressure off Judson Smith, who rushed for 1,163 yards on 208 carries in eight games in 2004, establishing a school record. Nathan Richman is a standout two-way lineman. I expect us to be very competitive."
