This week's picks

Xaverian over Everett -- There's only one thing on Greg Hyman's holiday gift list: time, and lots of it tonight.

Marshfield over Brockton -- Attention, Rams: You're supposed to eat after the game, not before.

Woburn over Billerica -- If this is the physical battle the first game was, look for special teams to decide the winner.

Newton North over Westford -- Tigers have too many athletes for the Grey Ghosts to contain.

Natick over Winthrop -- Wait a minute, does this mean Natick could finish No. 1 in final Globe Top 20?

Plymouth North over Foxboro -- Talk about respect . . . If the Blue Eagles beat Foxboro, Natick, USC, and the Colts, would the school sports staff finally put them in the Top 20?

North Andover over Duxbury -- Sure, Duxbury's win over Marshfield was impressive, but remember that North Andover opened the season with a win over a healthy Andover squad.

Wareham over Bishop Stang -- It's hard to be underrated when you're 11-0 but this Vikings team may be the best of a very strong division.

Tyngsboro over Archbishop Williams -- With warm weather expected today, look for Palazzola & Co. to take to the air.

Hopkinton over Abington -- The Hillers haven't lost to a Division 3 team this fall and here's a guess that will be true next week as well.

St. Mary's over Georgetown -- Unlike the baseball game last June (4-2, Royals), Georgetown will need more than timely hitting to stay close to the Spartans.

East Boston over South Shore -- South Shore is for Reale but the Jets' front will erode the Shore line.

Staff picks by Bob Holmes. Last week 5-5. Season 37-36.
