Not all teams were as good, or as fortunate, as Marshfield yesterday.

The Rams (10-1), who had already concluded league play, got a 16-yard touchdown from Brad Poirier with 43 seconds to play for a 21-14 victory in Duxbury.

Just a few minutes earlier, Marshfield had received news that Plymouth South defeated Plymouth North, 17-7, punching the Rams' postseason ticket.

"We were getting updates and our game was running ahead," said coach Lou Silva. "It was a double win, an absolutely great feeling."

The Rams rode the Poirier brothers, seniors Brad and Luke, to victory. Luke opened scoring with a 20-yard run. Duxbury tied the game at 7 before Brad took a quick pitch outside and ran 72 yards down the right sideline.

"We had Brad going right and Luke going left, and when we need the big yards, we gave it to one of the two," said Silva.

Duxbury responded with an 80-yard kickoff return and the game was tied at 14 late in the fourth quarter.
