High 5

RB Tim McDonald, Bedford: The 5-foot-8 junior's 29-carry, 204-yard effort kept the Bucs undefeated with a 24-16 win against St. Joseph's. The Bucs, off to their first 3-0 start in 25 years, are one win away from matching last fall's win total.

QB Shain Jowett, Central Catholic: Jowett ran for 2 touchdowns and threw for 84 yards in the Raiders' 28-7 win over Foxborough.

RB Andy Dalias, Bishop Guertin: Dalias was solid as the Cardinals cruised to a 4-0 mark with a 31-0 shutout over Timberlane; he rushed for 112 yards and 2 touchdowns.

QB Matt Grimmard, Dracut: The Middies were plagued by fumbles and turnovers in a 19-0 win over Lowell, but Grimmard threw for 152 yards and rushed for 93 more in the victory.

RB Kevin Moriarty, Wilmington: Sharing time with junior Evan Butters, the sophomore has held his own on the Wildcats offense. He scored his second touchdown of the season in a 21-7 win against Lexington, finishing with 104 yards rushing.

Game of the Week

Billerica at Andover (tomorrow, 7): The 3-0 Indians hit the road to take on Andover in a Merrimack Valley Conference matchup. The Warriors have lost two straight, but 13-year head coach Ken Maglio has matched up evenly plenty of times against Billerica's longtime skipper, Peter Flynn.

By the Numbers

15: Number of years Lawrence has not had a winning season. With 14 returning starters this fall, the Lancers have a good chance to break that streak.

3: Number of starters that returned to North Andover's roster. Eight-year head coach John Rafferty will rely on the running back trio of Julien Lacorse, Ricky Williams, and Zac Iovanella to anchor the offense.

1,900: Number of yards Arlington Catholic quarterback Corey Spencer threw for in 2007. The senior tied for the lead in Division 3 with 17 touchdown passes as well.
