Bedford, which finished tied with Arlington for the Dual County League championship, beat Concord-Carlisle yesterday, 33-7, and earned a spot in a bowl-style game vs. Hanover, the top team in the Patriot (Fisher) League, next week. The Buccaneers move on because they beat Arlington earlier this season.
Bedford jumped to a 21-7 lead at the half on scores by Dewayne Clachar (a 24-yard interception return), Ryan Carter (15-yard pass from Kevin Cangiano), and Tim McDonald (1-yard run).
Ben Rose added a 1-yard touchdown, and McDonald capped the scoring in the fourth on a 3-yard run.
Atlantic Coast:
Dennis-Yarmouth 30, Nauset 7 - Bryan Burch, Stephen Davis, and Matt Dawson all scored for Dennis-Yarmouth.
Plymouth North 30, Plymouth South 6 - Jameson Wood, Matt Walsh, and Matt Brouillard each scored in a second-quarter rally.
Bay State:
Braintree 21, Milton 13 - Joe Donovan's two touchdowns (1 yard and 20 yards) sealed the win.
Newton North 15, Brookline 7 - Conor O'Neil's 1-yard run in the second overtime boosted Newton North's Thanksgiving record to 56-52-6 over Brookline.
Dual County:
Lincoln-Sudbury 30, Newton South 6 - Derek Lowe carried nine times for 113 yards, scored three touchdowns, and kicked a field goal in the win.
Groton-Dunstable 41, Tyngsboro 20 - Ryan Romich scored three touchdowns.
Wayland 21, Weston 12 - Quarterback Jeff Brewington threw a 56-yard touchdown pass to Dennis Kim in the first quarter and scored on a 10-yard run.
Merrimack Valley:
Andover 26, Central Catholic 17 - Chris McConnell scored two touchdowns for Andover.
Chelmsford 22, Billerica 16 - Quarterback Mike Crafts topped the 1,000-yard passing mark as Chelmsford extended its Thanksgiving record over Billerica to 53-22-5.
Lowell 26, Haverhill 7 - Ambruce Carter scored on a 60-yard run in the first quarter and added a 2-yard TD in the third quarter.
Tewksbury 26, Wilmington 7 - Wilmington jumped to a 7-0 lead, but a pair of Joel Altavesta touchdowns in the second quarter sent Tewksbury on its way.
