Rain, lightning, and a game delay couldn’t stop Bridgewater-Raynham from conquering the defending Division 2A Super Bowl champs last night in Duxbury’s home opener, 28-7.

The Trojans had all the momentum in the first half of the game.

B-R won the coin toss and marched downfield on a 90-yard drive, with 30 of the yards coming on carries by senior running back Isaiah Johnson. Johnson was filling in for teammate Jake Williams, who is out with a high ankle sprain.

Wide receiver Neil Harrington carried the ball for 30 yards on the first play of the game to give B-R a quick start and momentum.

Johnson rushed in from the 5-yard line with a minute and a half left in the first quarter for the Trojans’ first touchdown.

Bridgewater-Raynham’s focus didn’t change after a half-hour lightning delay in the second quarter.

The Trojans came back and scored a minute after play resumed when Mike Chicoine got into the end zone on an 18-yard run.
