Senior captain Wayne Bolz returned an interception 50 yards for the deciding score late in the third quarter as No. 6 Billerica edged host Woburn, 20-14, last night in a nonleague clash.
Woburn’s Justin Flores scored both of the Tanners’ touchdowns, including a 70-yard jaunt a little more than a minute into the third frame to give Woburn its only lead, but the Indians tied the game on a 25-yard touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback Nick LaSpada to junior wide receiver Ryan Donahoe.
Donahoe intercepted a pass at the Billerica 33 with 2:05 remaining to help seal the victory.
“We needed a big play and as a senior captain, I wanted to step up and make that play,’’ said Bolz, who stepped in front of the intended receiver and streaked untouched to the end zone with the deciding score.
Mansfield 41, Minnechaug 7 - Matt Zonghetti rushed for 142 yards on five carries - including touchdowns of 52 and 78 yards - and the eighth-ranked Hornets (2-0) scored 35 points in the first quarter to roll to the easy win.
Catholic Memorial 27, Haverhill 6 - AJ Doyle ran for one touchdown and threw a pair of scoring passes to Joe McCarthy as the No. 17 Knights rolled past the Hillies.
Bridgewater-Raynham 49, Durfee 19 - Seven players scored for No. 20 B-R in a dominating win over Durfee.
Peabody 21, Cambridge 12 - Mark D’Addario rushed for two second-half scores, including a 60-yarder, to rally the Tanners past the Falcons.
Medford 33, Revere 0 - Alex Krasko passed for two TDs and ran for another and Phil Cherry scored on runs of 35 and 63 yards to pace the Mustangs.
Bishop Fenwick 6, Salem 0 - Alex Crecco rushed for 105 yards and ran 3 yards for the winning touchdown in the fourth quarter. Joe Bona finished with eight tackles and had an interception that sealed the win for the Crusaders.
Lawrence 12, Tewksbury 8 - Lawrence’s Francis Nova and Harvey Blanco each rushed for 70 yards for the host Lancers. Blanco had a strong defensive game as well with 10 tackles.

King Philip 42, Bellingham 6 - Brandon Howard passed for one touchdown and ran for another as the No. 13 Warriors jumped out to a 28-0 lead after one quarter and never looked back. Jimmy Johnston added two rushing TDs.
North Attleboro 24, Bishop Feehan 0 - Quarterback Joe Kummer rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns to power the Red Rocketeers to the upset of the 14th-ranked Shamrocks.
North Andover 21, Amesbury 0 - Zac Iavonella scored all three of North Andover’s touchdowns in the Scarlet Knights’ victory over visiting Amesbury.
Mashpee 6, Sandwich 0 - With five seconds left, Devin Andrade’s Hail Mary pass to Robbie Raymond answered Mashpee’s prayers.
Triton 39, Hamilton-Wenham 12 - Brendan O’Neil rushed for three touchdowns and 144 yards as host Triton had its way with Hamilton-Wenham.
Wilmington 35, Shawsheen 2 - Evan Butters racked up 202 total yards and three scores for the Wildcats.
Lynnfield 32, Georgetown 6 - Chris Grassi scored two touchdowns and Gino Cohee ran for one and passed for another to lead the Pioneers.
Newburyport 17, North Reading 13 - Andrew Sokol’s 85-yard kickoff return put the Clippers (2-0) ahead for good in the second quarter and Kyle LeBlanc’s 33-yard field goal in the fourth quarter helped seal the win.
Blue Hills 18, Holbrook 0 - Kevin Bennett threw a 44-yard TD pass to Brendan Englehart to give the Warriors a 6-0 halftime edge and Gabriel Cassado’s 47-yard punt return sealed it in the third quarter. Shane Mahoney recorded nine tackles and Jamar Goff registered seven tackles and two sacks for Blue Hills.
Chelsea 38, Brighton 6 - Daniel Martinez rushed for 120 yards and two scores and Nelson Molina also rushed for two TDs for the Red Devils (2-0).![]()
