No. 2-ranked Brockton made the trip to Derry, N.H., worthwhile yesterday by beating Pinkerton Academy, 28-14.
Trailing, 14-7, at halftime, the Boxers (5-1) rallied in the second half with three touchdowns.
Pinkerton’s Ryan Simpson opened the scoring in the first quarter. Brockton’s Greg Hilliard answered minutes later with a 67-yard touchdown reception from Sam Previte. James McAvoy added the extra point for a 7-7 tie.
Mike Mazzola put Pinkerton ahead in the second quarter, but Previte tied it for Brockton in the third quarter on a quarterback keeper from the 4-yard line. Junior running back Trevon Offley scored twice for Brockton in the fourth on runs of 2 and 6 yards.
The Boxers’ defense was crucial in the second half with four sacks and constant pressure. Hilliard finished with four catches for 122 yards. Previte was 7 for 14 passing for 179 yards. Offley carried 17 times for 79 yards.
Lynn Classical 19, Malden 14 - Lynn Classical’s Keith Nance rushed for 98 yards and caught a pass for a touchdown.
Barnstable 22, Dartmouth 7 - Barnstable quarterback Doug Crook rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown, and threw for 99 yards.

Bedford 21, Newton South 19 - Newton South scored twice in the fourth quarter but missed both conversion attempts and Bedford (4-2) held on.
Walpole 32, Norwood 14 - Matt Nee scored a pair of touchdowns for the No. 4 Rebels. Ryan Izzo had just one touchdown, pushing his career point total to 613.

Archbishop Williams 36, Watertown 12 - Junior tailback Alex Furtado scored three touchdowns and ran for 208 yards as Archbishop Williams (3-2) handed Watertown its first loss of the season.
Bishop Feehan 19, Coyle & Cassidy 6 - Sophomore tailback Zach Schweiger ran for 114 yards on 15 carries and a touchdown.

Winthrop 44, Saugus 0 - Frank Ambrosino lit up the field on both sides of the ball for Winthrop (3-3). As a running back, the senior ran for 156 yards on 13 carries and scored three touchdowns. Ambrosino also tallied 10 tackles at linebacker.

Hanover 38, Middleboro 13 - Senior running back Brett Wheeler scored three touchdowns and kicked a field goal for Hanover (3-3).
AC 12, St. Mary’s 0 - Senior running back Charlie Bates scored from 3 yards out with 5.3 seconds left to break a 6-6 tie and lift visiting AC (5-1).
Tri-County 27, Old Colony 8 - Randy Hardy ran for a touchdown and passed for two others to lead Tri-County.
BB&N 47, Milton Academy 0 - Senior Jim McCaffrey scored three touchdowns and ran for 187 yards as BB&N extended its winning streak to 14 games.
Nobles 22, Thayer 7 - Sean Shakespeare scored all three Nobles (2-3) touchdowns.
Roxbury Latin 25, St. Paul’s 14 - Jack Colton ran and threw for two touchdowns apiece in Roxbury Latin’s home win.
