Craan, C-C KO Weston
A week after giving its best player a vacation day, Concord-Carlisle gave its workhorse the thoroughbred treatment last night.
George Craan rushed for 142 yards and four touchdowns to help the Patriots beat previously undefeated Weston, 25-0, putting the tailback and his team in an enviable position in the Dual County League Small.
Craan rushed 22 times after receiving a break last week against Arlington because of what coach Mike Robichaud called “bumps and bruises.’’
“We just wanted to take it down a notch,’’ Craan said. “Just a general rest day.’’
Concord-Carlisle moves to 2-0 in the DCL and 6-2 overall while Weston dropped to 7-1 and 1-1.
BC High 27, Malden Catholic 0 — Junior Preston Cooper led the attack for the Eagles, rushing for 154 yards on 20 carries and scoring four touchdowns.
Everett 42, Medford 0 — Vondell Langston scored twice and Jonathan DiBiaso tossed two touchdown passes as the visiting No. 1 Crimson Tide rolled in their GBL opener.
Merrimack Valley Large Billerica 14, Lowell 0 — Nick LaSpada finished with 340 total yards (201 rushing, 139 passing) and one touchdown to pace the Indians. The defense was headed by Eddie Jankowski, who had two sacks and 12 tackles.
Andover 47, Dracut 19 — Andrew Coke, the leading scorer in Division 1, ran for three touchdowns and passed for another as the Golden Warriors stunned the No. 13 Middies.
Bridgewater-Raynham 20, Dartmouth 6 — Brad Delulis caught a 93-yard TD pass from Billy Zolga and Nick Schlatz ran for a pair of 1-yard TDs to lift the No. 20 Trojans.
Walpole 29, Natick 20 — Troy Salvatore threw for 121 yards and a touchdown and rushed for two scores to lead the No. 11 Rebels. Kenny Woods also had a stellar effort, rushing for 114 yards on 19 carries.

Lawrence 35, Haverhill 6 — Nathan Baez paced the Lancers (3-5), rushing for three first-half touchdowns.
Wakefield 26, Belmont 6 — Vinny DeSciscio rushed for more than 100 yards and four TDs — three in the second quarter — to lift the Warriors.
Woburn 35, Melrose 7 — Chucky Ortiz did it all for the Tanners, scoring TDs rushing, passing, and receiving and taking an interception back 105 yards for another score.
Reading 36, Burlington 7 — The No. 6 Rockets (8-0) spotted Burlington a 7-0 lead but then scored 36 unanswered points. Brian Bourque and Larry Gilligan each scored two touchdowns.
Watertown 28, Stoneham 13 — CJ Logan put the Red Raiders on his back, running for three touchdowns and catching another.
Bedford 22, Tyngsboro 13 — Bedford improved to 4-0 at home thanks to Steven Adams, who rushed 38 times for 219 yards and a touchdown.
Wayland 35, Arlington 0 — Ben Shelton went 7 for 10 for 299 yards and three touchdowns and Manwon Brisbane rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns for the Warriors (4-4).
Duxbury 14, Silver Lake 3 — Junior James Burke had 17 tackles and returned an interception 37 yards for a TD to seal the Green Dragons’ win.
Marblehead 28, Danvers 12 — Will Quigley rushed for 270 yards on 18 carries and ran 89 yards for a TD for the Magicians.
Hanover 29, Quincy 7 — Matt Lane ran for 160 yards and three TDs and a pair of 2-point conversions to boost the Indians.
Newburyport 24, Lynnfield 7 — Senior Dean Cataldo rushed for 151 yards and a TD as the Clippers (4-4) handed the Pioneers (7-1) their first loss.

Cardinal Spellman 15, Bishop Fenwick 0 — Blaise Branch ran for two TDs and the Cardinals stopped the Shamrocks.
Norton 29, Millis 6 — Zach Schwieger rushed for three TDs and passed for another as the Lancers improved to 7-1.
Brighton 52, Burke 28 — Dwight Kennedy scored three touchdowns, leading the Bengals (6-2) past the Bulldogs (1-7).
O’Bryant 12, Dorchester 0 — Omari Alfred ran for an 8-yard TD in the second quarter and Chandler Ransom sealed the win by returning an interception 60 yards for a score in the fourth quarter as the Tigers (5-2) won their third straight.
Hyde Park 26, Latin Academy 6 — Elijah Smith passed for 175 yards and three touchdowns, rushed for 65 yards, and picked off two passes, taking one 92 yards for a score.
