Last meet, lasting memories
If you asked me what's my favorite winter sport, the answer's easy: swimming. If you're the parent of a senior competing in his last high school event, you can't help but get choked up a bit ... ok, maybe a lot. The quietest kid on the planet started his swimming career as a freshman with a couple brave steps into the athletic director's office, followed by the words, ''I want to try out for the swim team.'' It ended as the team captain, bellowing out the pre-meet cheer for the last time at the Middlesex League meet.

How did it happen? And does anyone else wonder where the time went? One thing's for sure, it was a lot of fun.
