Beat goes on for St. Mary's girls
The last time St. Mary's lost a girls' hockey game, the economy wasn't a concern and the Camry was a safe choice. It was that long ago. After beating Woburn for the second straight year in the Division 1 state final, the Spartans unbeaten streak stands at 77 straight. Sure, there was that tie against Fontbonne, but in the end it was hard to argue with a 25-0-1 record.
''It's not easy,'' said St. Mary's coach Frank Pagliuca. ''Every game they're getting the other team's best.''
Catholic Central MVP Courtney Winters led the way, finishing her career with more than 200 points. And that last loss? It was March 7, 2007.
