10 moments to savor: Fall 2010

Bill Tighe goes out a winner
The fact that Lexington coach Bill Tighe went out a winner on Thanksgiving hardly matters. Wins and losses never defined the 86-year-old veteran of 60 years on the sidelines of Massachusetts football fields. The numbers were staggering: 514 games, 269 wins, 52 seasons as a head coach, a member of eight Halls of Fame. When time ran out on Lexingtons 14-0 win over Burlington, his players said it best. This is a special moment, said Connor Murray, who scored both touchdowns in the win. I cant imagine what it will be like next year, because Bill Tighe is Lexington football. Anyone care to follow in his footsteps?
