Annie Messuri likes what she sees on the Acton-Boxborough Regional girls’ hockey team.
Sophomore Cali Loblundo is back for her fourth season between the pipes, and the team returns its entire defensive corps that allowed a goal and a half per game a year ago. The Colonials lost just one player, Lauren Roche, to graduation.
“Be ready for a good season,” an amped Messuri, a team captain, warned before a team practice at Nashoba Valley Olympia in Boxborough this week.
“You have our blue line — Eleana [Cardarelli], Leah [Cardarelli], and Rachael [Emond] — and they’re out there killing it. … We have all the Smurfs another year older, and they’re just out there dominating.”
