After an uncharacteristic two-year absence from the Super Eight hockey tournament, Catholic Memorial clawed back into the state’s most exclusive playoff bracket last March behind a pair of stars and 17 underclassmen.
The Knights’ pursuit for their 14th Super Eight title came to an end at the hands of Malden Catholic in the state semifinals, and with the loss ended the careers of centers Liam Coughlin and Jack O’Hear.
This season, coach Bill Hanson and his young Knights they have a foundation in place to compete at the state’s highest level.
