DEDHAM — With a matchup of unbeaten girls’ hockey programs, the storyline usually becomes all about who is the best.
That wasn’t the case Saturday as Noble & Greenough came from behind in the third period to salvage a 1-1 tie with St. Paul’s at the Flood Omni Rink.
“The tie was helpful to us because they already had a tie and in the league we’re competing for in the ISL, which is always our first goal and the New England Tournament is a secondary thing,” said Nobles coach Tom Resor.
For the first time this season, Nobles (24-0-1) trailed as resilient St. Paul’s (20-0-2) took a 1-0 lead. But a shot from Becca Gilmore (assist from Courtney Pensavalle) leveled the score at 14:04 of the second period.
