Girls’ players to watch
Cassie Craig, Archbishop Williams: Junior defenseman from Raynham anchors the blue line for the Bishops, but also contributed 18 goals and three assists a year ago.

Emma Drew, Milton: After recording a dazzling .769 goals-against-average last season, the senior goaltender gives the Wildcats stability in net.

Melissa Piacentini, Thayer: Junior forward from Weymouth is dangerous around the net (36 goals and 17 assists last season) and has experience competing at national camps for USA Hockey.

Sarah Schwenzfeier, Hingham: Talented forward averaged nearly two points per game as a freshman (17 goals, 32 assists in 23 games).

Taylor Shepherd, Fontbonne: The senior wing (27 goals, 20 assists last season) from Quincy has racked up over 100 career points for the Ducks.

Girls’ Teams to Watch
Braintree: After a 17-5-1 run that ended in the Division 1 quarterfinals, Wamps start season seeking third straight Bay State Conference crown.

Canton: The top seed in last year’s Division 2 tournament, Bulldogs were bounced in their first tournament game by Winchester.

Duxbury: With senior forward Briana Connolly (17 goals, 13 assists) and sophomore forward Hannah Murphy (18 goals, 10 assists) leading the attack, the Green Dragons are contenders in Division 2.

Fontbonne: After being shut out by Winchester in the Division 2 state final, 2-0, Taylor Shepherd and Ducks have the pieces in place to make another run.

Hingham: All-time leading scorer Chrissie Bowler has graduated, but the Harborwomen return loads of talent from a squad that lost to juggernaut St. Mary’s of Lynn in Division 1 state semis, 4-3.
