Boys' hockey: Players of the week
Tyler Gover, Norwood - His three assists in a 4-3 win over No. 12 Needham were about as big as they’ve come for the Mustangs this season.
Bailey MacBurnie, St. Mary’s - The third-ranked Spartans picked up three big wins and improved to 14-1-2 as the sophomore goalie allowed only three goals.
Connor Irving, Beverly - A hat trick and an assist in a 5-1 win over Revere and a goal and three assists in a 4-1 win over Peabody lands the sophomore center on our list.
Mike Brown, St. John’s (S) - The freshman potted the first two goals of his career, including the winner in a 4-0 win over Arlington Catholic.
Brendan Collier, Malden Catholic - The senior captain scored two key goals against St. John’s Prep and followed it up with a goal and an assist against Saugus in a two-win week for the top-ranked Lancers.
