Trying to win a boys’ lacrosse game as the visiting team at Medfield High is akin to trying to take the SATs in the front row of a rock concert.

Each game is like its own festival. Music fills the field and blares beyond the bleachers. Entire families show up, chatting up other families, and they’re waiting in long lines to buy burgers.

And then the players come out. And they stomp their cleats on the bleachers and they run down from the stands onto the field amid a background of babel.
