Tournament soccer games often come down to penalty kicks but they are usually a last resort after a scoreless regulation and overtime. In Monday’s Division 2 South girls’ soccer final between Scituate and Notre Dame (Hingham), however, there were two penalty shots in the second half. The Cougars came up big both times, goalie Maggie Elliott rejecting Erika Badger’s bid early in the half before Gabby Kenyon connected on her opportunity with three minutes in regulation to send Scituate away with a 1-0 win.
