FOXBOROUGH --Major League Soccer has reduced the suspension of Revolution all-star Clint Dempsey from two games to one. The suspension will be served in New England's game against visiting Real Salt Lake tonight at Gillette Stadium.
Dempsey had initially planned to avoid the appeal process, but changed his mind this afternoon. His case was heard by MLS commissioner Don Garber today.
Dempsey was fined $750 and suspended for two games for violent conduct against Chicago Fire defender Gonzalo Segares in a July 8 match.
