The Danvers girls' soccer team took control in a hurry yesterday.

Sophomore forward Brittany Russo scored in the first minute and the Falcons improved to 6-0 in the Northeastern Conference with a 4-0 win over Revere.

Junior midfielder Tess Saunders put Danvers ahead, 2-0, seven minutes later, assisted by freshman Corey Persson.

Persson and junior forward Allie Leah scored second-half goals for the Falcons, who attempted 44 shots.

Hockomock: Gabby Cogliano scored twice in Saugus's 8-1 victory over Lynn Classical.

Northeastern: Lizzy Whitehill scored and added two assists in Marblehead's 4-0 win over Lynn English.

Old Colony: Mariama Hasek stopped 20 shots for Falmouth in its 1-1 tie with Marshfield.

Boys' soccer
Dual County:
Lucas Holmes's goal was the difference as Wayland beat Waltham, 1-0.

Mayflower: Shawn DeWitt and Jim Spann each scored in Blue Hills's 2-0 victory over Bristol-Plymouth.

Northeastern: Matt Quadros and Dominic Mondi each scored and added an assist in Peabody's 3-1 victory over Gloucester.

Boys' cross-country
Patriot:
Sophomore Jonathan McKinley (15:23) finished first, leading Duxbury to a 19-46 victory over Silver Lake . . . Led by Zach Maddigan (17:28), Middleboro held the top nine spots in its 15-50 victory over Rockland.
