High school softball players of the week

Kara O’Riley, Acton-Boxboro- O’Riley was 3-1 on the mound and went 10 for 14 at the plate, collecting three doubles, a triple, and six runs.

Shannon Smith, Milford – The Kentucky-bound pitcher threw back-to-back no hitters against Stoughton and Braintree, finishing with 45 strikeouts. She went 5 for 11 at the plate with a home run. She needs 12 strikeouts to break the state’s all-time record of 1,119.

Abby Lisinski, Weymouth—The Wildcats second baseman went 4 for 4 in a 9-2 victory over Bay State League rival Braintree.

Julianna Ferguson and Julia Sullivan, Sandwich– Ferguson’s bat was on fire this week as she belted five home runs and collected six RBIs and nine runs. Senior Julia Sullivan was stellar in the circle and at the plate, ending the perfect week 3-0 with three shutouts and 29 strikeouts in 19 innings. Sullivan was 11 for 16 at the plate with 2 homers, 9 RBIs, and 11 runs.
