When the gun went off for the boys’ 300-meter race at the State Coaches’ Elite meet at the Reggie Lewis Track and Field Center on Sunday, Andrew Bolze had one goal: set a state record. Not only did the Hingham senior surpass the former mark of 35.04 seconds, but his time of 34.19
ranks third in the country this season.
“I knew I had it in me,” Bolze said. “Coming into this meet, it was my No. 1 goal. I really wanted that state record and it was better than expected. Breaking 34 is also definitely a goal, but that’s a big thing so I am happy with today.”
