The Revolution haven’t defeated Chivas USA in their last six meetings. The winless streak (0-5-1) dates back to 2009.

But this isn’t a typical year for Chivas USA. These Goats are in turmoil.

New England faces Chivas USA at 10:30 p.m. Saturday at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif., looking to shake off recent and past struggles.

The Revolution (5-5-5) return to MLS action for the first time since a 4-3 loss to Vancouver on June 15. They also suffered a 3-1 defeat at D.C. United on Wednesday, which bounced New England from the U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals.

The Goats, meanwhile, are searching for some stability.

After a 3-7-2 start, Chivas USA fired coach Jose Luis Sanchez Sola on May 29, and replaced him with Jose Luis Real. Full story for BostonGlobe.com subscribers.
