Adu on the offensive as United dismiss Crew

Freddy Adu had a goal and two assists to lead D.C. United to a 3-1 victory over the Columbus Crew last night at Washington.

The 15-year-old Adu, making his second start of the season, scored his first goal of the year in the 71st minute to give D.C. United (2-2-2) a 3-1 lead.

Adu assisted on Jaime Moreno's fifth-minute goal, his third of the season, that gave United a 1-0 lead. Adu collected the ball in the corner and fed Moreno. He added an assist on Joshua Gross's goal four minutes later.

Chivas USA 1, Real Salt Lake 0 -- At Carson, Calif., Hector Cuadros scored on a penalty kick in the 39th minute to help Chivas beat its fellow expansion team for the first victory in franchise history.

FC Dallas 3, Wizards 3 -- At Kansas City, Mo., Ronnie O'Brien and Carlos Ruiz scored in a late five-minute span to give FC Dallas the tie.

Earthquakes 1, MetroStars 0 --Ronald Cerritos scored in the 60th minute and Pat Onstad made five saves at East Rutherford, N.J.
