Razov's two goals give MetroStars a lift

Ante Razov scored two goals in a 1:47 span of the second half to help the MetroStars beat his former Columbus Crew teammates, 3-2, last night at East Rutherford, N.J.

Razov, playing his second game for the MetroStars after joining the team in a June 7 trade that sent John Wolyniec to the Crew, scored his first goal in the 31st minute on a play set up by Youri Djorkaeff and Michael Bradley.

Razov made it 2-0 in the 33d minute, beating goalkeeper Bill Gaudette off a feed from Amado Guevara. Razov increased his career goal total to 80, giving him sole possession of fifth place in MLS history.

Wizards 1, Fire 1-- Preki scored in the 80th minute to rally Kansas City to a tie with Chicago, the Wizards' first point in 10 games at Soldier Field.

The Fire took a 1-0 lead in the 37th minute when Jim Curtin scored his first goal of the season. Midfielder Justin Mapp sent a corner kick into the box where defender Tony Sanneh headed it down. Curtin then scored on a shot into the right side of the net for the deciding goal.

FC Dallas 1, Galaxy 0 -- Roberto Mina scored an unassisted goal in the 32d minute and Scott Garlick had five saves for his sixth shutout to lead host FC Dallas past Los Angeles.

Mina scored after stealing the ball from Galaxy defender Tyrone Marshall, leading a three-on-one FC Dallas attack before scoring his second goal of the year.

Earthquakes 3, Real Salt Lake 0 -- Kelly Gray scored in his San Jose debut to help the Earthquakes blank Real Salt Lake at San Jose, Calif. Mark Chung and Wade Barrett also scored for San Jose (4-3-6).

Rapids 3, Chivas USA 1 -- Jeff Cunningham scored three goals, two in the second half, as Colorado topped Chivas USA at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
