Bullish New York gets point

Danleigh Borman's late goal lifted the 10-man New York Red Bulls to a 1-1 tie with the Kansas City Wizards last night in a Major League Soccer game in East Rutherford, N.J.

Borman's second goal of the season came in the 81st minute, when he took a pass from Juan Pablo Angel and beat Wizards goalkeeper Kevin Hartman.

New York midfielder Dave van den Bergh was sent off in the 77th minute for a hard foul, and coach Juan Carlos Osorio was ejected with six minutes remaining.

Jimmy Conrad gave Kansas City (3-3-2) the lead when he scored on a header in the 20th minute.

The Red Bulls (3-1-3) extended their unbeaten streak to five games.

Dynamo 2, Fire 1 - Bobby Boswell scored in the 82d minute to help Houston beat Chicago, which gave up more than one goal for the first time this season.

Boswell headed a shot past Fire goalkeeper Jon Busch to lift the Dynamo (2-2-4), who have won twice in a row after struggling for more than a month.

Ricardo Clark scored for Houston in the 17th minute.

Calen Carr tied it for the Fire (5-2-1) when he beat Dynamo goalkeeper Pat Onstad on a header in the 28th.

Toronto FC 0, Crew 0 - Host Toronto and Columbus kept unbeaten streaks alive with a draw.

Columbus (6-1-1) saw its five-game winning streak end. The Crew haven't lost in six games while Toronto (3-2-2) is unbeaten in five.

Chivas USA 3, D.C. United 1 - Sacha Kljestan scored the winning goal against visiting D.C. United (2-6-0) in the 76th minute as host Chivas USA came from behind to win a match for the first time in club history.

FA Cup final - Portsmouth won its first title in 69 years by beating Cardiff, 1-0, at Wembley Stadium.

Nwankwo Kanu pounced on a blunder by goalkeeper Peter Enckelman to tap in the winner from 2 yards in the 37th minute.
