City Islanders: Harrisburg is one of two USL-2 teams to advance to the third round, along with the Wilmington Hammerheads . . . Five USL-1 clubs and one PDL team make up the rest of the remaining non-MLS field . . .The City Islanders defeated the USL-2 Western Mass Pioneers, from Ludlow, in the second round on penalty kicks, 4-3 . . . They topped the Reading (Pa.) Rage of the PDL, 4-1, in the first round . . . Harrisburg won the 2007 USL-2 championship . . . The City Islanders lost to the Revolution in the 2007 quarterfinals, 2-1.

Revolution: The Revolution won the 2007 US Open Cup, beating FC Dallas, 3-2, in the final. They fell in the semifinals last year, losing to D.C. United, 3-1 . . . The Revolution are coming off Sunday’s 1-0 win over Mexican club Atlas to put them in the semifinals of the SuperLiga, which they won last year . . . Backup goalkeeper Brad Knighton (1-1-3, 1.53 goals against) is expected to start . . . Midfielders Shalrie Joseph (right knee) and Steve Ralston (right hamstring) are not expected to play . . . Forward Taylor Twellman, who hasn’t played since June 7, was placed on the disabled list Friday because of a relapse of concussive symptoms from earlier this month . . . Midfielder Wells Thompson will serve a one-game suspension for drawing two yellow cards in last year’s semifinal against D.C. United . . . Defender Jay Heaps is also unavailable after being named to the US National Team Gold Cup roster.
