Chad Marshall and Eddie Gaven scored to help the Crew win their fifth straight MLS game, 2-0 over FC Dallas last night in Columbus, Ohio.

The Eastern Conference-leading Crew (10-3-9) are 6-0-2 since losing to FC Dallas (6-10-5) in June.

Marshall scored off a corner kick in the 10th minute. He outjumped Atiba Harris at the edge of the 6-yard box to take a feed from Robbie Rogers and put a header past goalkeeper Dario Sala. Gaven entered in the 75th minute and scored unassisted 12 minutes later with a shot from 17 yards.

William Hesmer had only one save for Columbus, but it preserved the 1-0 lead in the 72d minute when he pushed a header from Jeff Cunningham over the crossbar.

Reigning league MVP Guillermo Barros Schelotto returned for the Crew after a hamstring strain kept him out four matches. Barros, second in the league with 10 goals, came on in the 90th minute to a standing ovation.

Toronto FC 2, D.C. United 0 - Dwayne De Rosario scored for the fourth straight game as host Toronto posted a shutout.

Toronto (8-7-6) jumped two points ahead of D.C. (6-5-10) for third place in the Eastern Conference. United, which sat atop the East last month, fell to 1-5-6 on the road.

De Rosario broke a scoreless tie in the 30th minute, heading home a pass from Sam Cronin for his team-leading ninth goal of the season.

Rookie O’Brian White, a Toronto-area native, scored his first MLS goal to double the lead in the 66th minute. Six yellow cards were issued, four for Toronto.

Chivas USA 2, Red Bulls 0 - Maykel Galindo scored off a feed from Chukwudi Chijindu in the 15th minute, and Eduardo Lillingston added a goal late in added time in Chivas USA’s victory over reeling New York in East Rutherford, N.J.

Chivas USA (9-7-3) snapped a five-game losing streak and moved into a tie with Colorado for third place in the Western Conference.

Real Salt Lake 0, Dynamo 0 - Pat Onstad made six saves, helping Houston tie Real Salt Lake in Sandy, Utah.

Onstad recorded his MLS-leading ninth shutout of the season for the Dynamo (11-6-6), making his biggest save in the 45th minute when he stopped Robbie Findley’s shot just in front of the goal.

Sky Blue FC 2, Freedom 1 - Francielle scored the winning goal as Sky Blue advanced to the WPS semifinals by beating Washington in Boyds, Md.

Francielle beat a defender with a touch to the right, and fired a shot from 18 yards out just inside the right post in the 84th minute, breaking a 1-1 tie.

Sky Blue takes on Athletica in St. Louis Wednesday.
