Breakers KO’d in opener

Abby Wambach proved again last night why she is one of the top women’s soccer players in the world, leading the magicJack to a 3-1 victory over the Boston Breakers in a WPS first-round playoff game at Boca Raton, Fla.

Wambach opened the scoring for the magicJack in the sixth minute before Boston’s Keelin Winters tied it in the 31st.

Wambach broke the tie on a penalty kick in the 57th minute, and Megan Rapinoe added an insurance goal in the 61st.

The magicJack will face Philadelphia in Saturday’s Super Semifinal, with the winner squaring off against Western New York for the championship Aug. 27.
