Final: US 1, Algeria 0: The US advances to the round of 16 with the win.

91st minute, US 1, Algeria 0: Landon Donovan slams home a rebound in extra time to give the Americans the goal they needed to advance.

Halftime, 0-0: Another great scoring chance for the Americans in the 37th minute, but Altidore is off target on a shot right in front of the goal that would have put the US on top. No score here after the first 45 minutes.

21st minute, 0-0: Old Revolution star Clint Dempsey puts the ball in the back of the net but is ruled offside. Dempsey looked to be even with the last defender and even with the ball.
