As the high of the women's World Cup comes down, a good opportunity to check out some of the players involved in the tournament is coming up this Sunday as the Boston Breakers take on the Western New York Flash at Harvard Stadium.
For the Breakers, Aya Sameshima, a defender for Japan's World Cup winning team, will be available to play, as will United States forward Lauren Cheney and defender Rachel Buehler.
Brazil's Marta, the five-time winner of the FIFA women's world player of the year award, will be playing for the Flash as well as her teammate Alex Morgan, a star for the US women's team in the World Cup final.
The game will also be a signature event in support of breast cancer awareness. The Breakers will swap out their regular uniforms for pink ones provided by Puma as part of Project Pink in women's professional soccer. Fans are encouraged to purchase Project Pink attire from Puma in support of the cause. Puma, in turn, has pledged to donate all of its proceeds.
