Houston Dynamo defender Geoff Cameron's work permit has been approved, clearing the way for a $2.7 million transfer to Stoke City, according to published reports.

Cameron, born in Attleborough, played for West Virginia University and the University of Rhode Island before joining Houston in 2008. Cameron is expected to be named to the US national team for a game in Mexico City next Wednesday.
