Wearing their colors: World Cup jerseys

The World Cup kicks off tomorrow, and even if you don’t know a thing about the teams battling it out this year, it turns out there’s a lot you can discern from the jerseys the players wear. (Not least is that they’re big business for Adidas, Nike, and Puma, the designers of most of this year’s uniforms.)

The jerseys change at least a little from World Cup to World Cup, and at their best, combine culture, history, and a touch of attitude. We recruited Brad Feldman, play-by-play announcer for the New England Revolution and former commentator for ESPN International, to help us decode them.
