All-Scholastics

Alec Ahee

Concord-Carlisle, Senior
Ahee teamed with Hayden Callahan to advance to the state finals of the doubles tournament. He won a team state title as a junior playing in the second doubles pair for the Patriots. Ahee will attend Miami University next year.

Aaron Belowich

Newton South, Junior
A two-time Dual County League all-star and Globe All-Scholastic, Belowich went 13-3 this year in first doubles. In the individual doubles tournament, he reached the North sectional final for the second time. Belowich, an honor student, enjoys playing Ping Pong.

Blake Blaze

Barnstable, Senior
Blaze was a South sectional finalist in the state individual tournament, finishing with a 21-1 record. A senior, Blaze captains the Barnstable tennis, football, and basketball teams. The class valedictorian will attend the University of Virginia.

Hayden Callahan

Concord-Carlisle
A two-time All-Scholastic, Callahan won team and individual state titles as a junior. He finished as a state finalist in the individual doubles tournament and a Division 1 North finalist this season. Callahan is an honors student who also enjoys golfing.

Michael Casey

Barnstable, Junior
Casey went 22-2 this season, returning to doubles after spending his sophomore year playing singles. He advanced to the finals of the South individual doubles tournament. Casey's interests include skiing, languages, and history.

Mark Garrity

Newton South, Senior
The honor roll student played tennis and soccer, earning Dual County League all-star honors in both sports. On the courts, he was a finalist in the North sectional doubles tournament. Garrity will play soccer next year at the University of Delaware.

Cameron Ghorbani

Lexington
Ghorbani, the top-ranked under-18 player in New England by the USTA, went undefeated in first singles in his four seasons with the Minutemen. He helped Lexington win the Division 1 North sectional this season and next year plans to play at Dartmouth.

Ilya Levin

Wellesley, Junior
The junior lost just once all year at first singles during Wellesley's undefeated state championship run. His teams have lost five times during his three-year varsity career. Levin will play USTA tournaments this summer and captain the Raiders next year.

Luke Martin

Sandwich, Senior
The Sandwich senior captain played in the first singles slot for the second straight year, winning all 18 of his team matches. He was a semifinalist in the South sectional individual tournament, compiling a 23-1 overall record. He will attend Colby College next year.

Mesa Mei

Somerville, Senior
Mei was dominant for the Highlanders in first singles, winning every single one of his matches this year without dropping a single set. The senior, who plans on playing USTA tournaments this summer, will enroll at Xavier University in the fall.

Gordon Peters

Wellesley, Senior
Peters won back-to-back individual doubles state championships with different partners. He went undefeated in singles and doubles play as a member of the Raiders' Division 1 state champion team. Peters will attend Reed College in Oregon in the fall.

Pierre Planche

Beaver Country Day, Senior
Palnce has established himself as one of the top tennis players in EIL history after earning his second All-Scholastic nod as the EIL MVP. In both his junior and senior year, Planche led BCD to an undefeated season in EIL competition.

Carl Reid

Belmont Hill, Freshman
The freshman led Belmont Hill to an undefeated season as the first singles player, winning the ISL MVP award in the process. Reid also plays baseball and soccer. In his free time, he enjoys listening to and playing jazz piano.

Aaron Revzin

Needham, Sophomore
Revzin is a back-to-back finalist in the state individual singles tournament. He went undefeated in the regular season at first singles for Needham's Carey Division-winning team. The sophomore, who plans on playing USTA tournaments this summer, is a high honors student.

Alex Robertson

Wellesley, Junior
Robertson was unstoppable this year, winning the state individual doubles title and going undefeated for Wellesley's Division 1 state champion. A junior, Robertson is considering playing tennis in college. He's an honor roll student and varsity soccer player as well.

William Spector

Weston, Junior
A two-time first-team Dual County League all-star, Spector held serve at first singles as the Wildcats (18-2) won the Division 3 state title. The junior will play for the USTA New England team this summer. His hobbies include drums and snowboarding.

Alex Steinroeder

Concord-Carlisle
Steinroeder won his second straight individual state singles title and was a Division 1 North sectional finalist with the Patriots. A junior, he went 24-1 overall. Steinroeder is a member of the National Honor Society, and he enjoys playing Ping Pong.

Jonathan Zelman

Cape Cod Academy, Junior
Zelman won all 18 first singles matches this season, guiding the Seahawks to the Division 3 South sectional semifinals. The junior is also a member of the National Honor Society and was on the high honor roll last semester.

Ralph Herbst

Cape Cod Academy
Cape Cod Academy went 22-1 in Herbst's 12th season as coach, improving his career mark to 147-46. A former football and basketball coach, Herbst credits assistant coach Joe Lipka and athletic director Phil Kenney for the program's development.

William MacDonald

Cape Cod Tech
MacDonald, a 20-year coaching veteran, won the Mayflower League coach of the year award for guiding Cape Cod Tech to a 13-5 season. In addition to boys' tennis, he also coaches girls' soccer. His hobbies include reading and following his children's sports activities.

Chistopher Pugliese

Lexington
In his third season, Pugliese guided the Minutemen to a 23-1 record and their second straight Middlesex League title as well as a Division 1 North sectional championship. He is 59-9 at Lexington. Pugilese also coaches tennis at Pine Manor College in the fall.
