Colombo said he is expecting big production from senior Josh Brewster, who is a strong feature back. "He's a big time running back who can get tough yards inside and break it big," Colombo said. The Boxer offense, which is led by senior quarterback Paul Mroz, is filled with numerous weapons, including senior Lucas DePina and junior Austin Roberts at wide receiver and senior Jerrod Shelby at tight end. On defense, senior Giovanni Hyppolite will anchor the defensive line, while junior Micah Morel will start at safety. Colombo said Brockton expects its new turf field to be ready by its second home game Sept. 23 against Xaverian.

First year head LaJhon Jones looks to bring his success from Moses Brown to the Durfee football program. "My expectations are to get better every day," Jones said. "Durfee is filled with hard workers that play very tough, and good things usually come from people that work hard." Jones said he expects a lot of production from senior Colin Barboza, a six-foot, 170-pound wide receiver. "He has good hands, he's very explosive and he has a knack for making big plays," Jones said. Also, look out for senior linebacker Jordan Furtado and senior quarterback Todd Peixinho. The strength of the team lies in the offensive line, with seniors Ben Sietelberg (LT), Tim Ponte (OG) and Christian Cabrera (RT).

New Bedford

New Bedford has a solid core of receivers in senior Marcel DePina and junior Michael Rapoza. "DePina has sure hands and slick vision as a route runner and [Rapoza] has sure hands and he's physical," Golden said. Rapoza, along with senior Jaraud Wood bring veteran experience to the cornerback positions. The Whalers lost three of four defensive lineman, but Golden said he expects a lot of production from junior defensive end Tyler Arena. "We expect Tyler to play hard and continue to do his job and compete every snap. He's a good worker, he understands the game, and he has good technique."
