Athletes of the Year

Aaron Conrad

Division 1: Bridgewater-Raynham, Senior
Conrad was unbeatable this season, finishing 52-0, and claiming Division 1 South and state titles, along with All-State and New England championships at 182. The 5-foot-11 senior graduates with a career record of 128-13. He also played football for the Trojans.

Michael Stewart

Division 2: Dracut
Stewart went undefeated this season, finishing the year at 47-0 (35 pins) and earning MVC co-MVP honors at 138 pounds. The 5-foot-10-inch senior took home sectional, state, All-State, and New England titles. He graduates with a career record of 185-17.

Bradley Wong

Division 3: Pembroke, Senior
The 5-foot-5-inch senior went 44-4 this season wrestling at 106 and earned the Division 3 state championship along with the All-State title. Wong graduates a two-time Division 3 South sectional champion with more than 100 wins and plans to join the Marine Corps.

John Belcher

Landmark
A three-time EIL tournament champion, the Arlington resident has a league record of 32-0 and led his team to EIL titles in 2011 and 2012. This winter he went 25-5 and was third at the New England Prep School tournament. He'll attend Findlay (Ohio).

Ian Butterbrodt

St. John's Prep, Sophomore
Wrestling at 220, the 6-foot-1-inch sophomore compiled a 57-1 record this season for the Eagles. After winning the Division 1 North title, Butterbrodt also claimed the state title and was a finalist at the New Englands. In two years, Butterbrodt is 100-6.

Nick DeRosa

Billerica
The 5-foot-3-inch junior captain won a Division 1 state title at 120 pounds and an All-State championship this season. An MVC All-Conference wrestler, he also captains the Indians soccer team and is an honor roll student. In 2012 he was named an All-American.

Brad Drover

North Andover, Junior
In his junior season, Drover went 44-3 wrestling at 160 and won both his sectional and Division 2 state championships. The 5-foot-10-inch 160-pounder then placed second in both the All-States and New Englands. For his career, Drover is 140-17.

Fritz Hoehn

North Andover
The sophomore fought his way to a 46-5 record at 152 pounds. A two-time sectional champion, Hoehn won a Division 2 state title this year and is 91-10 in his career. Hoehn was an All-State finalist and fourth at the New England's.

Corey Jean-Jacques

St. John's Prep, Senior
Jean-Jacques finished the season 58-5 at 285 pounds. He won the All-State title and was named a Catholic Conference All-Star for the third straight year. He took fifth at New Englands and graduates with a career record of 138-26.

Pat Lacroix

Central Catholic, Senior
Lacroix graduates from Central Catholic with the most career wins in school history (179). He also holds the mark for most wins in a season (54). The 5-foot-7-inch 126-pound senior was this year's Division 2 state champion and was second at All-States.

Christian Monserrat

Methuen, Junior
A repeat All-Scholastic, the junior finished the season 58-0 at 126 pounds and earned his third straight Division 1 sectional, state, and All-State championships. Monserrat, who stands 5-feet-8-inches, also won a New England title and was named an All-American.

Ryan Neals

North Andover, Senior
The senior put together a 44-2 record and went on to become the Division 2 North sectional champion and Division 2 state champion at 182 pounds. Neals is a three-time sectional and two-time state champ. Neal graduates with a career mark of 162-20.

Alexe Restivo Lage

Natick, Senior
Restivo Lage captained the Red Hawks to their 14th consecutive Bay State Conference title. After finishing 49-4, the 5-foot-8-inch senior earned high school wrestling's version of the Triple Crown, winning sectional, Division 2 state, and All-State titles at 170.

Ethan Rheault

St. Paul's, Senior
Rheault went undefeated in ISL competition this year, going 19-0 in the regular season at 152 pounds, and then going 4-0 in the ISL tournament. A senior, he ends his career 108 wins, 87 by pin. He also plays football and lacrosse.

Jimmy Ryan

Dracut, Senior
Competing at 145 pounds, Ryan finished the season 54-3. The 5-foot-10-inch senior took home Division 2 sectional, state, and All-State championships this year. He went on to place third in his class at the New England's. He'll attend Roger Williams University.

Jonathan Ryan

Dracut, Sophomore
Ryan turned in an impressive sophomore campaign, finishing the season 42-6 at 120 pounds. He won a Division 2 state championship and was a finalist at the New England's. The 5-foot-8-inch Middie, is already a three-time Division 2 North sectional champ.

Paul Sughrue

Methuen, Senior
A repeat All-Scholastic, Sughrue capped off his senior season with his third Division 1 sectional, state, and All-State championships just minutes after his Rangers teammate, Christian Monserrat, accomplished the same feat. The 5-foot-6-inch 132-pound senior finished the year 42-3.

Devon Thompson

Lowell, Senior
Thompson was an All-State champion this season wrestling at 113. The 5-foot-5-inch senior also was a Division 1 finalist and won the Division 1 North sectional championship and the Wayland and Woburn Tournaments. He also likes boxing and mixed martial arts.

Leonardo Trindade

Billerica, Senior
No one who entered the circle with Trindade this season walked away victorious. The 6-foot-3-inch 196-pound All American senior won Sectional, State, All State, and New England titles. He graduates a two-time state and All-State champion with a record of 154-30.

Ben Zogby

Franklin, Junior
The 5-foot-6-inch junior wrestled his way to a 37-3 record at 113 pounds and a Division 1 state championship. Zogby went on to place second at All-States and fourth in the New Englands. An honor student, Zogby is 108-21 in his career.

Carl Cincotta

North Andover
Cincotta, who began coaching at the school in 2011 after being the assistant coach for the previous five seasons, led the Scarlet Knights to their fourth consecutive Division 2 state title. His team, which boasted five individual state champs, finished the season 22-4 overall.

Manny Costa

St. John's Prep
In his 23d year, Costa led the Eagles to a 38-3 record and a Division 1 dual meet state title. All 14 of Costa's wrestlers placed at the Division 1 North sectionals. This is Costa's (525-131-5) third Coach of the Year honor.

Dave Vining

Pembroke
Vining has won six Patriot League titles and six Division 3 South titles since becoming coach at Pembroke in 2004. He's had 10 individual state champions and led the team to a 176-42 record. The Titans were 22-4 this season and won the South sectionals.
