Sports Hub First Again, WEEI Seventh in Winter Radio Ratings Period

For the sixth straight three-month ratings period, 98.5 The Sports Hub is the No. 1 station in Boston in the coveted men 25-54 demographic.

The Sports Hub earned a 9.3 share covering the winter period of January 2-March 26 according to Nielsen Audio data released Wednesday.

WEEI (93.7) finished seventh with a 4.6 share. That's down from a third-place 6.6 share in the fall, which included the Red Sox' run to the World Series championship. The Sports Hub, the flagship station of the Patriots, earned a 10.9 share in the fall.

In morning drive (6-10 a.m), The Sports Hub's "Toucher and Rich'' program was first for the seventh consecutive three-month period with an 11.1. T&R had a 12.2 in the fall. WEEI's "Dennis and Callahan" was second for the second straight period, earning a 7.1. D&C had a 9.0 in the fall.

For midday (10 a.m.-2 p.m.), the Sports Hub's "Gresh and Zo" program was second with an 8.9, 0.1 behind WZLX's "Carter Alan" show at 9.0, while WEEI's "Mut and Merloni" was 10th (3.5).

In afternoon drive (2-6 p.m.), "Felger and Massarotti" was first with a massive 12.5 share. WEEI's programming finished seventh with a 4.4. The program was the "Salk and Holley" for much of the winter period, until co-host Mike Salk resigned March 12. Former midday host Dale Arnold has since been reunited with Michael Holley in the day part, along with a variety of rotating hosts..

From 6 p.m.-11 p.m., The Sports Hub was first with an 8.7 share. "The Adam Jones Show" as well as Bruins and occasional Celtics games air in that window. WEEI's "Planet Mikey Show" was tied for 11th (3.9).

WZLX, which like the Sports Hub is a CBS Radio property, was second overall with a 6.8.

During the winter period in 2013, the Sports Hub was first with a 9.0, while WEEI tied for sixth with a 5.2.
