Cherry on top of Lucic criticism

I thoroughly enjoyed Don Cherry’s presence on NESN’s Bruins broadcast last night, particularly when he unabashedly accused Milan Lucic of quitting in his first period fight against Toronto’s Colton Orr.

“That’s a disgrace to the Boston Bruins,” Cherry said amidst a wide-eyed, “where do we go from here?” tandem of Mike Milbury and Kathryn Tappen.

“Don’t you give him points for getting involved?” asked Milbury.

“Hey, I don’t give points for quitting,” Cherry responded.

Cherry went on to say that Shawn Thornton fought Wayne Primeau on the ensuing faceoff seconds later because he was “embarrassed.” Saving further embarrassment, the Bruins went on to beat arguably the worst team in the league in a shootout for their first win at the Garden in 2010. It’s March by the way.
