Kids in the know have started throwing parties at Coco Key, an indoor water park in the Sheraton Ferncroft in Danvers. It’s the closest Route 1 gets to Disney World: sensory overload with a Top 40 soundtrack.

The tropical-themed, kid-friendly resort has a spa, a pool for little ones, water slides with names such as “Shark Slam” and “Gator Gush,” a wave beach, and a bar for grown-ups.

For birthday parties, Coco Key charges $34 a person Monday to Thursday and $44 Friday through Sunday. The package includes a few hours of swimming, quality time in an arcade room, party favors, a cake, pizza or hot dogs, and a group photo.
