Sweet

This almost one-year-old cupcake shop is decidedly retro; when we stopped by, "Breakfast at Tiffany's" was on the TV and Leslie Gore's "You Don't Own Me" played over the speakers. Sweet's sweets are so popular that owner Courtney Forrester and crew are opening a Harvard Square location this spring.

Our take: The cream cheese frosting on the "Organic Karat" cupcake is pleasingly tangy and the edible gold leaf on the frosting is a cute touch. New seasonal flavors include the "Sweet Peeps" (vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting dipped in sanding sugar and topped with a Peep) and the flourless chocolate Passover cupcake.
