The next best thing to knowing someone who knows someone who has a roof deck with killer views of the city? Spending a night out with friends under the stars at one of Boston's rooftop bars, of course.

The waterfront Atlantic Beer Garden raised the curtain on its roof deck July 11, just in time for the Tall Ships. And in mid-August, Splash is slated to open its roof space — complete with a fountain, private cabanas, and beds — on Kneeland Street. Here's a look at some other lofty options around the city.
