Raiding their pantry
How many times have you begged a waiter to ask the chef for a recipe? Thanks to Carla and Christine Pallotta, and their mother, Angelina, you don't have to beg - or cook. The sisters, who own nebo in the North End, recently opened Angelina's Pantry inside the trattoria, where you can buy pepperonata, an Italian relish of anchovies, garlic, olive, sweet vinegar peppers, hot cherry peppers, and black olives. The spread used on their antipasto is their mother's recipe, as is the marinara sauce, another pantry provision.
Pepperonata $12 (8 ounces), marinara sauce $8 (12 ounces). nebo, 90 North Washington St., North End. 617-723-6326. www.neborestaurant.com
